Originally posted by K-Man people seem to have a lot of trouble with those, so please post any dribbling 'tricks' u know.
include the controlling device (keyboard/pad) and the platform (PC, PS 2, etc.)
for me, my succesful trick is that to first call for the player to run into space (E) and then immediatly press the 'smart' pass button(S).
most of the time the pass is completed successfully
does a chipped cross into the box and my striker jumping in the air and backheeling it into goal count? i've kinda mastered the cross and finishing by header/diving header, sidefoot, lunge, tap and now my first air-backheel..
involves basically mastering the run button so that u can use yr wingers/wingback as decoys or get them to whip the ball in..but remember the golden rule, tap yr run button juz b4 u cross the ball so ur central players can get ahead of the defenders...anyone want the replays juz give a shout..
oh and sumtimes using the shift and arrow buttons i get my players to push the ball ahead from standstill so as to wrongfoot the opposition by getting an extra yard or so b4 passing or shooting
and use the space button to recreate the push and run teachnique...useful on the wings or again to get past opponent, but be mindful of the times u tap the space button coz the ball can get ahead out of play at times after repeated taps
I usually get (playing with 2 attackers) the chance that one of the attackers has the ball easy dribbling towards the 2nd attacker (whi is 20 yards away) then passing the ball, and the 2nd attacker will either shoot directly at goal, or if the pass is more of a through ball he will run and shoot it in.
Always works in Amateur mode, sometimes in SemiPro (depends on the coverage of your 2nd attacker) and hard to do in Pro.
Yes you can overhead kicks, press the head button followed by the lob button and the direction, if you the player is facing to the left and you press the right arrow, the player will do an overhead kick. Never managed to pull one of em at goal, only for passing. Let's just call it galleryplay
About 1-2's, it is able, but I forgot how to do that, something with running, pressing the smart pass button and holding it down. About high lobs 1-2's, I don't know how to...
Anyway, just get used to the controls, that's all..

Defenders rule #1: the player can get past you, OR the ball. NEVER both.
I'm using a PS dual shock pad on my PC and START is my skill button. I've seen about 3 skills so far, and I think different players have different skills. Wingers tend to have a skill that involves kicking the ball a few yards ahead of them, everyone else tends to shimmy a bit. The only other skill i've seen so far is Seba Veron has a 360 degree spin on the ball, but i've only ever done it twice and I have no idea how, because most of the time he just shimmies.
I'm still at a loss with heading/volleying the ball though. I can do it in the middle of the park with no problems, but if I cross the ball my players just do nothing and if i'm defending a corner they clear the ball all on their own!! Please can someone tell me how to do these moves!!!!??

If you point the right analog stick at RIGHT ANGLES to the direction your running, your player will shimmy in that direction.
If you point the right analog stick STRAIGHT AHEAD of your player, he will knock the ball forward.
If you point the right analog stick DIAGONALLY IN FRONT of your player, he will perform a step over and push the ball forward diagonally.
Well, thats the general impression i get. You will probably prove me wrong! I have performed other strange things, dunno how!
I think its quite good, as your stuck with a player in front of you, and you quickly do ANYTHING with the r/ analog stick, and it performs a seemingly random get-out trick!
i did a 360 spin once i passed the ball to my attacker diouf he was next to a defender i held backwards down and pressed space bar and he did it and got through it was amazing

spacebar? but there dosn't seem to be any controls assigned to the spacebar in the manual...
anyways i once did a cut-in while running down the flank with beckham (ala ProEvo Soccer)....i think i did it with the 'thru ball' button combined with a quick change in direction....i dunno maybe it was pure luck
i do hope someone figures out the '360 spin' though....i think its a smashing move
