Ricardo Quaresma

How's he been doing at Barca? Last I've seen of him was the video on Gestifute(his agent's site). Is he making a decent impact or is he just another Simao?? Thanks for any help in advance.:)

Vedran-10 03-12-2003 01:32:AM

He definitely isn't another Simao.

He's been doing very well ,though he didn't play the last few games due to injury ,but he returned to the first team.
He's mostly in Rijkaard's winning eleven. He rules.I love to watch him dribble.

One more opinion similar to mine...HELLO, all you Benfica fans, read this !!!:crazyboy:

Crusad3r 03-12-2003 02:58:AM

he is not sucking, but he is not doing amazing things...

He is a young player, lets see

Punkt 03-12-2003 02:58:AM

yes he's right. Quaresma isn't another Simão.

Simão is better... :crazyboy:

Vedran-10 03-12-2003 05:29:AM

Simao sucks compared to Ricardo.

RUSI 03-12-2003 05:31:AM

he hasnt done what he was expected in my opinion:)

I meant in the sense that he didn't fail at Barca. Simao has proved he's good in the Superliga but he'll get eaten alive in other leagues. He doesn't have the diversity.

bbranco10 03-12-2003 05:32:AM

like you have seen him play at benfica ????

panxoman 03-12-2003 05:32:AM

He's doing well.

Sometimes he should think a bit what he is donig and not shoot so fast, but... he's a good player now at 19 and a great player for the future.

He has integrated in the team much better than Simao and Geovanni.

The comparisons here are
Barca's Simao-Barca's Quaresma

Not Benfica's Simao-Barcelona's Quaresma.

In which case, I still think Simao is a bit over-rated, great spot-taker, and passes well, but he needs to gain just 10% of Quaresma's confidence/arrogance to become a class player. While Quaresma needs to lose some confidence/arrogance, and hopefully Rijkaard is doing that, but I don't know what his reputation is as a coach, but if he's handling him well then Quaresma will go far beyond where Simao has gone by 21, and at that pace will become a class player.

Again this is all coming from what I've seen of Simao this year and Quaresma last year(and highlights of him for Barca on gestifute.com and the US tour matches).

Parasol 03-12-2003 05:57:AM

i haven't seen quaresma playing for barça lately, only saw him in the u21 match against france, and he sucked big time.

Dream Team 03-12-2003 05:58:AM

He needs to improve some things. He is 19 and is a player with a great future. In two months he has advanced very much.

::shinji:: 03-12-2003 06:46:AM

I recently saw the Barcelona-Panionios UEFA cup game which Quaresma played in.....he was ok, showed a couple good dribbles but not much more. Mind you, it was a pretty meaningless game since Barca had already won the first leg 3-0

Brujo 03-12-2003 11:38:AM

Quaresma is a good player but he REALLY needs to work on his crossing ability.
