do you have the lineups for both teams for that match?
|
PSV should have wrapped it up by now, they were storming clear. This is like the 14th game Feyenoord have won in a row is'nt it?
I think it was RKC v Feyenoord. Van Hooijdonk Hti the post, the bar and scored with 3 free kicks. IMO, Van Hooijdonk is the worlds best free kick taker. Certainly my favourite. |
I havent actually seen Van Hooijdonk in action hopefully they should have a Feyenoord game on TWG one day.;)
|
you're missing alot.
His freekicks are the shizzle. It's the perfect banana. Pity he's like 30 or something. |
yep
now PSV just have to slip up and the title is ours again :mrpimp: |

Lemme see. Feyenoord on the otherside of the world, no links at all to Feyenoord except in the Aussies eyes - Emerton. Now Emerton being Australian you would follow Feyenoord. A supporter could say "Yes. The title will be ours" seeing as the supporters support the club by going to matches, purchasing merchandise, not a Feyenoord keyring or a Feyenoord replica ball. This ain't Radio 1's tedious link. You follow Feyenoord, you don't support them. Supporters have the right to say our seeing as they contribute to the club. I have a Roma shirt, I don't support them. My £20 is hardly gonna be a decent contribution. I follow them, I don't support them. Don't take it as a personal insult Larry, I read something similar 3 years back at lunchtime at school, and it seperates the glory hunters from the real supporters. |
so why the hell do you call yourself a west ham supporter :|

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP)—
Pierre van Hooijdonk scored three times as Feyenoord Rotterdam downed leaders PSV Eindhoven 3-1 Sunday in Rotterdam, keeping the Dutch Eredivisie competitive to the end. After Ajax annihilated De Graafschap Doetinchem 7-1, just four points separate the top three teams, with two games left to play. Eindhoven's loss was just its second of the season and it heads the premiership with 80 points, while Ajax has 77, and Feyenoord 76. The first-place team in the Eredivisie is guaranteed a Champions League berth, while the second side will play in Champions League qualifying. The third place team makes the UEFA Cup. Van Hooijdonk opened the scoring for Feyenoord on a 23rd-minute penalty kick, after Bonaventure Kalou's artful fall convinced the referee he was tripped by PSV defender Andre Ooijer. After PSV's Arnold Bruggink barely missed a header in the 42nd, Feyenoord scored its second goal on the counterattack. Kalou dribbled past several defenders on a blitz down the right wing, and centered to Hooijdonk, who finished decisively. After the half, Mateja Kezman got PSV's only score volleying a cross in off the right post to extend his league-leading goal-scoring to 34. Van Hooijdonk, second in scoring with 28, completed his hat-trick on another penalty in the 63rd. De Graafschap scored first in Ajax's 7-1 romp over the last-place team, on a corner kick in the third minute. But Van der Vaart pulled out a brilliant equalizer 13 minutes later, turning and shooting into the upper left corner before his defender could react. He scored again in the 46th minute, putting a cross from Steven Pienaar between the legs of defender Rene Bot. Wesley Sneijder, Tomas Galasek, Steven Pienaar, Maxwell Scherrer and Nourdin Boukhari added goals for Ajax in the second half. Despite the lopsided victory, Ajax remains behind PSV on goal difference - by five - an edge for PSV should the teams finish the league tied on points. - source Fox Sports To Gareth: I support Feyenoord, not because of Emerton. I onced watched a game of theirs a domestic game, if I recall they lost it was 4 years ago. Then about a fortnight later another game of theirs was on - they won the match and also the League in that year. Larry has some connection to Holland - his uncle (i think ;) ) lives in Rotterdam and supports them and I think Larry was born there or grow up there. I have followed Emertons career there - but if he leaves then, i dont care - my favourite player Van Persie will still be there. I think Van Hoojidonk was the reason I became a fan and now its been 4 years I would like to think I am a supporter even though I dont have a jersey (Kit - I have been tring now for 12 unsuccessful months since I now have my own income), I would like to think I am a supporter - I dont watch Ajax or PSV games and when a Feyenoord game is on I watch it - even @ 4am in the morning having to work that morning. Supporters, I dont have to spend money. I grew up in Balmain, Sydney. A huge Rugby League suburb in 1988-89 (the glory years when the team made it to both grand-finals). MY parents did spend heaps of money - for games, jerseys, flags, the finals all for my brother and sister. Today, yes the team is in a decline - thats not the point - we dont spend money we have been down that road - does all the West Ham supporters you know go to every game, have flags, buy the magazine? i very much doubt it. |
I only know two other West Ham fans. It's Arsenal, Chelsea or Man U. Only one holds a season ticket, he is 30. The other one is 19, and he works his arse off so he can go abroad, but his room is based around West Ham. The 30 year old has a loft full of West Ham goodies, then on the 3 forums I go on, most in London or around the London area have a season ticket, and surprisingly a large number of them travel to away games - One cycled to Brum to raise money, he raised £1,450. Something like that.
I watch football at 1-5am, Dutch, Argentinian and MLS. Brazillian football used to be on the morning after at 3am, it don't mean I support Ajax, River plate, San Jose Earthquakes and Santos. I'll follow them, but I certainly don't support them. |
Just because I dont live there certainly doesnt mean I dont support them.
From Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) [web1913]: Supporter \Sup*port"er\, n. 1. One who or that which supports; as oxygen is a supporter of life. Ok, so if I nolonger watch Feyenoord's games in the near future I doubt I would have any impact on them financially or physically. IMO thats the same for you too Gareth because I doubt the money you have spent (no matter how large you make it out to be) would have any impact with A (former) Premier League club like West Ham. |
